I hold a human first approach to therapy. You can expect me to be engaged, present and alongside you in our sessions and as we navigate your challenges.
Whilst I am a BACP accredited therapist with 9 years clinical experience, I am also LGBTQIA+, neurodivergent and a parent to an energetic goldendoodle. On this page, you can learn more about me, my values and background.

As a person-centred counsellor I believe that, as the person living your life and experiences, you know it best. In our sessions, together we will work through your challenges, helping you to understand these and yourself more deeply. Rather than living from a default, learned position, improved self-awareness and personal insight can help you to live a more intentional and wholehearted life. Your therapy with me will be a safe and accepting space with no expectations. You will be able to talk, think, process, discover, feel uncertain, cry, get angry, laugh and even be creative! We will go at your pace, and at the depth you choose, exploring your experiences and challenges with care, compassion and understanding.
I will help you to re-connect with your authentic self, to heal and to find ways forwards that make sense to you. I will support you to navigate relationships in more helpful and healthy ways, honouring yourself and finding ways forward that make sense to you. Through this process, you can learn to live more freely, with less distress and be supported to finally come home to yourself. I find this therapeutic approach is gentle yet powerful, and can effect lasting therapeutic change. It was first founded in the 1940's and has an extensive evidence base supporting it.
I believe that we all have the resources and power within us to thrive and live a fulfilling life. Sometimes, however, we can receive misleading and often subtle critical messages from our family, relationships and society. These messages can communicate to us that we are only acceptable if we comply and follow them. We can internalise these and when we don't live up to them, we can feel shame, distress and internal pain. We can criticise ourselves and not feel good enough. It can lead us to live a life and make choices based on others' wants, needs and agendas. Somewhere along the way we lose ourselves. Parts of ourselves become silenced and made small. This process, whether you are aware of it or not, may be impacting how you currently view and experience yourself, your thoughts, feelings, memories, relationships and the world around you. Our sessions may help you to liberate yourself from these internalised messages, to find your voice and live a life on your own terms.
My counselling work is rooted in diligent, transparent, confidential and trustworthy ethical practice. This is supported by professional codes and frameworks I commit to, along with my detailed practice policies, investment in robust supervision, and time devoted to my personal development and continued professional study.
I always aim to work at the pace and depth that you are comfortable with. The appropriateness, safety and undertaking of any therapeutic approaches we use will be carefully and regularly considered. I will hold a commitment to consistently show up and be accountable in our work together, and will encourage you to do the same.
Celebrating diversity and creating a sense of belonging is at the heart of my practice. My approach is anti-oppressive, LGBTQIA+ affirming, anti-racist, disability and neurodivergent affirming. My practice welcomes clients of all identities, abilities, and backgrounds. I am committed to making therapy more accessible wherever possible.
Supporting you to experience meaningful connection with yourself, and with others is a core intention of my work. Your tears, laughter and whole self are welcome in my practice. I believe that an important aspect of therapy is our shared humanity, and that being truly known by another human is what promotes growth and therapeutic change.
